American Gold Medalist Bob Schul to be Second Featured Speaker at Air Force Marathon

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – Along with American Paralympic Gold medalist Grace Norman, veteran and American Gold Medalist Bob Schul is scheduled to be the second guest speaker for the 23rd Air Force Marathon.

Ohio Track Club Girls Team helped get today’s women athletes on front page

On June 15th the Ohio Track Club Girls Team held their 60th reunion at the Polaris Grill. They were formed in Columbus in 1959 by Jim Lorimer — an ex-FBI agent, Cold Warrior, Nationwide Insurance executive and sports entrepreneur — with help from Harry McKnight — ex-Ohio State pole vaulter and longtime teacher and coach at East High and Walnut Ridge.

OHSAA Track & Field Championships - Columbus May 31/June 1

The 112th Boys and 45th Girls Ohio High School Athletic Association Track & Field Championships saw numerous outstanding performances, new State Championships records, Division records and Jesse Owens Stadium records. The Ohio Championships is one of the largest High School Track & Field Championships in the country.

AEP Columbus 10K presented by RUNOHIO

Perfect June weather greeted  another outstanding field toeing the starting line in downtown Columbus for the “Oldest Race in Columbus” – the 42nd annual AEP Columbus 10K presented by RUNOHIO.  The race again started across the river from the original site of the former Central High School which is now the Center of Science and Industry (COSI), however the course was slightly changed with completion of the Scioto Mile and Scioto Bike Trail.

News from RUNOHIO, June 2019

All four members of the 4 x 100 meter team returned the next year and won the 4x100 meter relay title setting school records in their final six races to end the season undefeated. The hurdler also finished second in both races with lifetime bests and school records and the team finished fourth.
