RUNOHIO Start Year 32

I introduced RUNOHIO at the 1988 Columbus Marathon and the first issue of RUNOHIO printed March 1989. My younger brother Jeff and my mom, Jean McGowan, assisted with the start of the publication. A number of difficulties have occurred since we started RUNOHIO, including Jeff passing in 2012 and my mom going to a nursing home four years ago and passed away last 2018. March starts our 32nd year serving the running community. If you are not a subscriber to the print RUNOHIO, I hope you will sign up this year - http://www.signmeup.com/134218
Also, if you not a subscriber to the free RUNOHIO Monthly Newsletter go to www.runohio.com to sign up.

Spring

Spring is just around the corner and hopefully we will have some great weather for training and racing.  Spring is also the start of one of the oldest sport known to mankind – track and field. Track and field is one of the most diverse sports as there are 17 different events for high school athletes and 20 for collegiate athletes to challenge themselves. According to The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) girl’s track and field is the largest participatory sport for high school girls and boy’s track & field is the second largest participatory sport for boys.
