Hudepohl 14K Brewery Run

on 19 September 2011.

WOW, that was an amazing return of the 10th running of the Hudepohl 14K Brewery Run after a 14 year hiatus! A huge thank you for your participation and helping us make history with this return of Cincinnati's running and brewing heritage.

With more than 2,200 participants and thousands more coming to the event to cheer and participate in the inaugural Hudepohl Bier Laufen, we had a party to say the least. We would like to congratulate all the category winners including14K male winner Julius Koskei (41:42) and14K female winner Ann Alyanak (50:00). And congratulations to Arnold's Bar and Grill for their win in the inaugural Hudepohl Bier Laufen.

The return of great traditions takes an incredible effort by many including you - our runners or walkers who made a commitment to the event. We do not take lightly the importance of your participation and know we need to do our part to make it a stellar experience so you'll want to return.   Having said that, we know there were bumps along the way in getting to the finish line. We have received great constructive feedback on the event and recognize we need improvements in some areas, including, but not limited to making sure the 7K turn around signs get placed (I'm sure this will be a spectacle spot on the course next year - promise), separating the beer stations to create more areas, and providing more restrooms to name a few. For those of you affected by the 7K turnaround issue, we sincerely apologize and will offer a discount on your entry fee for next year's race as a sign of our commitment to improve your overall experience.   We will contact all of you shortly.

We also will make sure everyone gets a medal they are fantastic and we had a last minute rush of entries that made getting more delivered by race time impossible. We apologize and will be in contact with those participants who didn't receive their medals shortly.

We make no excuses and promise we will get better. Many thanks to all of you for your feedback and support. We loved reading all of the emails and Facebook messages on what a great time you had at the race.

We would also like to thank all of the great runners, walkers, volunteers, sponsors, City of Cincinnati and staff for making the return of the Hudepohl 14K Brewery Run a reality to benefit Give Back Cincinnati and the Over-the-Rhine Brewery District . We look forward to seeing you on Oktoberfest weekend next year.
