Vote for the 2016 RUNOHIO Runners of the Year.  Please email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with your votes for the following men and women: open, masters (40- 49), grand masters (50-59) and seniors (60 and over).  You can also mail your votes to:  RUNOHIO, Runners of the Year, PO Box 238, Granville, OH 43023

I will be helping to direct the Arnold 5K Pump and Run and the Arnold 5K on March 5th.  Registration for the Arnold 5K Pump and Run is closed but you can still register for the Arnold 5K - This will be a tough day as my brother, Jeff helped me with this race (he passed away four and a half years ago).  Also, one of the workers at the finish line every year, Bob Lennon, was killed in September 2013 by a hit and run driver while he was biking. If you would like to volunteer for the Arnold 5K please contact me This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. If you are directing a race in 2017, please send RUNOHIO your race information and/or an entry form as soon as it is available.  Next year I will have an updated web site with a new race calendar. RUNOHIO covers primarily Ohio, but also list races from West Virginia, Indiana, northern Kentucky, southern Michigan and western Pennsylvania.

If you want to reach the runners of Ohio and surrounding states, contact RUNOHIO at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it   Advertising is available in the print RUNOHIO, on the RUNOHIO web site or in the monthly RUNOHIO E-Newsletter.

Don’t forget to renew your subscription to the printed RUNOHIO in 2017. If you are not a subscriber, I hope you will become one in 2017. March will start our 29th year of serving the runners in Ohio and neighboring States.  https://www.signmeup.com/114778

The next issue will be a Mid-March/Mid-May edition. The deadline is February 14th for results and calendar information.  For advertising the deadline is February 20th.

As another year ends and a New Year begins, one can always look back on numerous positive happenings as well as sad ones we experienced. I am sure we all know people who had a challenging 2016 either with a health or work situation. If you know someone having a rough time, maybe you can do something to make their life better.  As I write this I am recovering from hernia surgery and hope to be back out and around soon.

When you are making your New Year’ Resolutions, I hope you will consider volunteering at a local road race. If possible, help to sponsor a local race or help a new runner understand proper training and your neighbor who might need some assistance. If we all do a few kind acts to help others who are nearby, I am sure 2017 will be a Great Year!

I wish you a Happy, Healthy and Safe 2017!
