Circleville Classic 5 Miler

CirclevilleClassic2011Circleville  October 16 - Athens’ Stephen Ragg (25:32) pulled away from Kettering’s Austin Fritzke (26:47) before the two mile mark to win the 24th annual Circleville Classic 5 Miler. Circleville’s Zach (28:56) finished third as the top three won pumpkin pies and coffee mugs.

Orrville’s Beth Woodward took the lead at the start and ran away with the women’s crown to win in 31:23. Columbus’ Rachel Brieck (36:41) held off Stoutsville’s Kaylee Stowers (36:49) for runner up honors.

Mount Sterling’s Steve Tallman (31:42) and Virginia’s Rachel Edwards (36:59) won the master titles and a six pack of pumpkin donuts

Jean and Jeff McGowan directed this event with the help of many long time volunteers in this race which benefits the Circleville High School running programs. A post race drawing was held for Lindsey’s pumpkin pies and donuts, RUNOHIO certificates and other items.

After the race many of the runners headed to the 105th annual Circleville Pumpkin Show, Ohio's Oldest and Largest Festival.
