High School Girls Track & Field number 1, Boys number 2

Nationally Track & Field is the number one participatory sport for high school girls for the ninth year in a row and number two for high school boys. According to the National Federation of State High School Associations Ohio has 787 boys track and field, but the OHSAA only recognize 690 schools as having boys track & field.

For the ninth year in a row I have had the honor to be on the selection committee to vote for the USA Track & Field National Hall of Fame. The following Olympians and record breakers comprise the 44th  National Track & Field Hall of Fame induction class: Modern Athletes - Leroy Burrell and Bryan Clay, Veteran Athletes Patty vanWolvelaere (now Weirich) and Lindy Remigino and Coach Bill Squires.

KEEPING TRACK - Bring Back the Mile and Dual Meets

The opening words of the mission are: "Return the mile to prominence on the American and worldwide sports and cultural landscape by elevating and celebrating the mile to create a movement." New American Women Half Marathon Record
 
Molly Huddle broke Deena Kastor's 67:34 American record in the half marathon which had stood since 2006 at the Aramco Houston Half Marathon January 14th by running 67:25. http://runohio.com/index.php/news/1450-new-american-women-half-marathon-record
