OATCCC Track and Field Clinic

on 25 December 2011.

 

The Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches annual Track and Field Clinic will be held at the Hilton Easton from January 26 - 28. The pre-registration deadline is January 12, 2012 to be eligible for banquet tickets. Registration at the clinic will be Thursday evening from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday and Saturday mornings starting at 7:30 AM.

on 20 December 2011.

Registration for the March 4th 2012 Arnold 5K Pump and Run started at 12:01 a.m. on November 1st and is now closed. 

There is no waiting list as registration is closed for the 2012 event.

McMillan Elite Defends USATF National Club XC Men's Title

on 12 December 2011.

 

Adidas/Team Rogue Elite wins women's team honors in Seattle; Grey, Felnagle individual champions; event record field of 1,200-plus - SEATTLE - (December 10, 2011) - Defending team champion McMillan Elite (Flagstaff, Ariz.) successfully defended their Open men's title, while adidas/Team Rogue Elite (Austin, Texas) took the women's Open team title Saturday at the 2011 USATF National Club Cross Country Championships at Jefferson Park in Seattle.

Thanksgiving Day races have grown over the years and now ranks as oneof the top days of racing, perhaps only behind July 4th races. The BuffaloTurkey Trot is the oldest road race in America as last month was the 116thannual. The Cincinnati Turkey Trot celebrated it 102nd running thispast Thanksgiving. Both races saw only men compete the first few years. 2005was the last time that the Cincinnatirace had more men – 4,677 than women – 4,399. This year’sCincinnati Thanksgiving Day Race had 7,514 women and 6,277 men finish. U.S. Olympic Marathon Team Trials

 

The 2012 U.S. Olympic Marathon Team Trials will be held in Houston on January 14th, a day prior to the 40th anniversary of the Houston Marathon. 2011 OHSAA State Cross Country Championships

 

Nearly prefect November cross country weather greeted 449 boys from 146 schools and 456 girls from 152 schools who participated the 84th Boys and 34th Girls Ohio High School Athletic Association State Cross Country Championships. Many say the first American Thanksgiving was celebrated in 1621, to commemorate the harvest reaped by the Plymouth Colony after a harsh winter. In that year Governor William Bradford proclaimed a day of thanksgiving. The colonists celebrated it as a traditional English harvest feast, to which they invited the local Wampanoag Indians.
