March 2017 RUNOHIO E-Newsletter

RUNOHIO was introduced at the 1988 Columbus Marathon and was first printed March 1989. My brother Jeff and my mom, Jean McGowan, assisted with the start of the publication. RUNOHIO's goal when we started was to provide timely running information with the most compete race calendar, results and running news around the state of Ohio.

Arnold Races to Kick Off 2017 RUNOHIO Grand Prix Series

from mid January - mid March 2017 print RUNOHIO - For the eighth year in a row I have had the honor to be on the selection committee to vote for the USA Track & Field National Hall of Fame. The following Olympians and record breakers comprise the 43rd National Track & Field Hall of Fame induction class, modern athletes - Butch Reynolds and Connie Price-Smith, veteran athletes - Buddy Edelen and Al Feuerbach and contributor Frank Zarnowski who were inducted into the National Track & Field Hall of Fame last month.  Mark your calendar as the USATF National Convention will be held in Columbus, Ohio 2017 November 28 - December 2 and  2018 November 29 - December 3. http://runohio.com/index.php/news/1228-2016-national-track-a-field-hall-of-fame

Siegel provides State of the Sport, highlights historic performances and athlete financials

ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- USATF CEO Max Siegel on Thursday afternoon delivered a State of the Sport address that highlighted the overall health of the sport, athletic success of team USATF athletes, and growth in the areas of constituent services, partnerships and athlete income. He made his remarks at the Opening General Session of USATF’s 2016 Annual Meeting.
