KEEPING TRACK - Ten Pledges for Cross-Country Coaches:
(By Rod O’Donnell ) 1. I pledge to call my local newspaper with meet results, regardless of how my teams finished. If results are not reported in the next edition, I will follow up with a phone call to the sports editor. This will be continued until the results are published.
Arnold Track and Field Championships
High school athletes – be part of the newest sport added to the ARNOLD Sports Festival – the Arnold Track and Field Championships. This event will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the French Field House at The Ohio State University.

CREW 5K Columbus
August 21, 2010 - A pack of seven runners hit the first mile in 4:46 as they looped around the Columbus Crew Stadium and the Ohio State Fairground in the 4th annual Crew 5km. Stephen Ragg pulled away just before the two mile mark in front of the Ohio Historical Society and entered the Crew player’s tunnel by himself and finished at the Crew Stadium midfield in 15:33 for the win.

Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival Races
The Pro Football Hall of Fame was opened in 1963 which was also the first year athletes were inducted into the Hall. There are now 260 members in the Hall of Fame . The greater Canton/Stark County community hosts the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival with over 4,000 volunteers.

By Rod O’Donnell - From July/August print RUNOHIO - The 2010 high school and collegiate track seasons have ended, but the post-season continues for those competing in the AAU, USATF Championships, the World Junior Championships, and the European Circuit Diamond League. It was a great year for high school track and field in Ohio.
CREW 5K – Saturday, August 21st
The Columbus Crew and RUNOHIO announced that the Columbus Crew 5K will be held on Saturday, August 21st at 8:30 a.m. The event will offer a number of unique features, including a free Crew ticket with each paid registration, a course that takes finishers through the Crew players' tunnel and onto the Crew Stadium field.

With a couple of more months of hot weather running many athletes are looking forward to the fall with cooler temperatures. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water before and after your runs. This is especially important during the hot, humid days of July and August. There are a number of excellent races to test your fitness in the next few months.

By Matt McGowan - Hiram’s Bridget Franek who ran at Mantua Crestwood High School and graduated this spring from Penn State University won the women’s 3000 meter steeplechase at the NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships last month in Eugene, Oregon. Franek ran 9:38.86 to win by thirteen seconds with Colorado’s Emma Coburn (9:51.86) finishing second.

Penn State's Bridget Franke wins 3,000 meter steepe chase at NCAA National Track and Field Championships - EUGENE, Ore. - Legendary college track coach Pat Henry and his Texas A&M Aggies swept the men's and women's team titles for the second year in a row on Saturday at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field.
COLUMBUS 10K
Columbus, June 6 - The “Oldest Road Race in Town” the Columbus 10K again saw many of the top Ohio runners toe the starting line at Genoa Park in downtown Columbus.
