Matt first got involved with running in a Thanksgiving Day race and in grade school track in Wheeling, Illinois. In junior high, Matt started to run the dashes.

Race For Hope 5K was founded in 2004 when Carleen Taylor made a promise to her friend Peggy that she would help her raise awareness that colorectal cancer occurs in those under 50 years old. Pan-American Masters Games
|
Greater Cleveland Sports Commission announced the 2024 Pan-American Masters Games will be held in Cleveland during the Summer of 2024
|

Circleville City Schools recognized and thanked the McGowan family for their generous donation to the track facilities at the CHS Track Invitational last month. In honor of their continued support, the facility will now be known as The McGowan Family Track.
