Toledo, Ohio — April 23, 2023: The 46th Mercy Health Glass City Marathon hosted an exceptional field of runners, from first-time marathoners to nearly 75 elite athletes looking to quality for the Olympic Marathon Trials, on the campus of the University of Toledo Sunday morning, April 23, 2023.
The weather was ideal for runners throughout most of the race. Fans, friends and the community came out to support runners in great numbers around the course and at the finish line inside the Glass Bowl stadium.
All of this year's fields were packed with strong, fast men and women seeking to hit new highs, set course records and take home the title in marathon and half marathon events. Five course records were set. No Olympic Trials qualifying times were achieved this year.
“We’re grateful to the Road Runners Club of America for the 2023 Championship Marathon designation. A strong field of elite athletes turned in several course records on a beautiful day for running in Northwest Ohio,” said Clint McCormick, race director, Mercy Health Glass City Marathon. “The crowd engagement around the course and in the Glass Bowl stadium showed great area pride and community support,” he added.
