The Run for Home Road Runners Club is preparing for the 15th annual Cleveland Clinic Run for Home Fitness Festival scheduled for April 9 and 10 in the Dover-New Philadelphia area.   The club is dedicated to promoting community fitness and generating funds for Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio.

In the past 14 years, the Run for Home Road Runners Club has donated $237,000 to Habitat for building projects in Tuscarawas County.    "We've been blessed by strong community support to help Habitat for Humanity while also encouraging community fitness during the last 14 years," said club president Matt Ritzert.

Events this April include a kids' run, one-mile fun run, 5K race, and 10K race on Saturday, April 9.  "We plan to have a variety of additional activities to encourage participation by the entire family," Ritzert said.  Sunda,. April 10 features a half-marathon and team-relay on a certified course that takes participants on streets and park paths through Dover and New Philadelphia.   All events start and finish in and around New Philadelphia's historic Tuscora Park.

The Run for Home Road Runners Club is an all-volunteer group and is a member of Road Runners Club of America.   More than 100 volunteers assist the club each year during race weekend, making the Cleveland Clinic Run for Home a true community event.   As many as 1,200 people have participated in Run for Home events in the past.   The half-marathon typically attracts anywhere from 200 to 500 participants.  More information about the club and it's events can be found at www.runforhome.org
